Notes(s):

From the 1511 Latin edition of the Apocalypse. Loosely based on the final woodcut in the 1483 Koberger Bible, this was also the final plate in Dürer's book. It faced the final chapter of text, so never had letterpress on the reverse. The image combines an image of the angel casting Satan into a pit (from chapter twenty), with an image of the angel showing John the New Jerusalem (from chapter twenty-one). Duvet treats these episodes in separate plates.
