Description:

Ivory sticks and guards, pierced and carved (23+2). The left guard is strengthened with a silver plaque. Cream silk ribbon. Brass? rivet with mother-of-pearl washers. Front: Carved with the inscription 'SI VOUS AIMEZ CE QUE L'AIME/VOUS VOUS AIMEREZ VOUS MEME' in two lines; above between and below, pierced striations edged by dotted borders. Reverse: Undecorated. Guards: Carved with tiny flowers and birds on a pierced net ground. On the back, engraved striations, a bird and a flower.
