Description:

Folding fan with a single leaf of paper, with tiny flecks of mother-of-pearl on the leaf. Painted with 'The Three Cardinal Virtues': Fortitude, Wisdom and Moderation, after Raphael's fresco in the Vatican.
Sticks and guards of pierced ivory, the latter backed with gilt foil.
