Description:
Cotton friendship sampler embroidered in polychrome silks in cross-stitch. Three edges are hemmed and there is a selvedge on the right side. An inscription is framed by a blue and yellow bud-border and inside it a large flower basket flanked on either side by a large stylised flower sits above the verse which reads ' this gift my friend/To the I. send/In hope to be approved/ I have done my best/ i protest/ For one so well beloved/ Mary Sharp to Mary/ Limmer June 25 1790'.
